2023 Honda CR-V

The entry-level CR-V is the EX. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, and LED taillights. A step up to the Sport Hybrid adds 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, other gloss black exterior trim elements, and a tire repair kit. The EX-L has a power liftgate, while the Sport Touring Hybrid has 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The base powertrain for the 2023 CR-V is a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that puts out 190 horsepower. It works with a continuously variable automatic transmission and comes with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Sport and the Sport Touring trims get a hybrid powertrain with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor that combine to generate 204 horsepower and get 247 pound-feet of torque. The Sport Touring Hybrid comes standard with all-wheel drive.

The updated CR-V provides a smooth and comfortable ride. The fine-tuned suspension allows the vehicle to eat up bumps in the road without making the ride too soft. The steering system responds quickly, so you'll feel in complete control. If you have a hybrid model, it can tow up to 1,000 pounds.

There's room for five inside the CR-V. Honda stretched the wheelbase for the 2023 model, making the cabin more spacious and adding rear-seat legroom. The front seat riders get Honda's body-stabilizing seats, designed for better posture and to reduce fatigue. Standard features include heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and ambient lighting. Moving up to higher trims gets you a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable passenger seat, driver's seat memory settings, and leather upholstery. The Sport Touring Hybrid has a heated steering wheel with all these features. Technology in the CR-V starts with a 7-inch touch-screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker stereo system, Bluetooth, two 2.5-amp USB ports, a 3.0-amp USB-C port, and HondaLink. The Sport Hybrid adds rear-seat USB-C charging ports and the EX-L upgrades to wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The EX-L also has a nine-inch touch-screen, wireless smartphone charging, satellite radio, and an eight-speaker stereo system.

Every 2023 Honda CR-V comes with a comprehensive list of driver aids as part of the Honda Sensing suite, including a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, braking assistance, lane-keep assistance, and adaptive cruise control. A rear seat reminder also comes standard, along with hill descent control and hill start assist. A new system for the 2023 model is traffic jam assist, which works with the lane-keeping system and makes minor steering adjustments when traveling under 45 mph to help provide relief when you're stuck in traffic.
